Joy Overflowing

Joy is such a precious gift. Peace is too but that's a conversation for another blog.

I have, over the past few weeks, felt the overwhelming sense of so many fighting to remain with joy. The weight of problems, issues, loneliness, singleness, and relationships have been far more weighty than they have been in times past. Can I tell you that its really a trick? I know you are reading this and thinking there is no way because what I feel is very real. You're right! The last thing I want you to do is to negate what you are feeling.

Without our feelings, we miss warnings and markers that are highlighting a growing issue that needs to be dealt with but our feelings cannot be the deciding factor of how we see life and have joy. Joy is meant to be like sunglasses that we see life through. No matter what is going on when we have the right glasses on we have the ability to see life correctly! So remember I said, Our feeling are markers.... What have you been feeling?

Hopelessness...Inability to see things positively...continuance disappointment, even when things are well...

These are markers that your joy is being depleted. Paul said something in Romans 15:13 (TPT) I think is very relevant in this moment:

Now may God, the fountain of hope, fill you to overflowing with uncontainable joy and perfect peace as you trust in him. And may the power of the Holy Spirit continually surround your life with his super-abundance until you radiate with hope!

It is so interesting that it declares "as we trust in him." Trust in God is an amazing prerequisite to obtaining overflowing joy. Have you found that your trust in God has been waning? This is a great opportunity to re-focus...to surrender to God again...to decide that no matter what you will TRUST IN GOD!!! Even after the decision, deal with the thoughts that fight against you trusting in God. That's a choice DAILY!!!!

See, as well that, God, as our fountain of hope, has the ability to fill us in such a way that our joy overflows. When is the last time you asked God to fill you with overflowing joy? I think this would be a great time to stop and ask...

Father of Hope, We Love you. I ask now that you would fill me with overflowing joy as I commit my trust to you again. Thank you In Jesus Name

Simple prayer I know, but there are many things we are not receiving simply because we are not asking. Now, as God responds to your prayer, commit daily to trust God no matter what is going on. Jesus told the disciples to "deny themselves daily", which means you must "commit to God daily."

I am grateful for the overflow of joy that is being restored or being established in your life TODAY!!!
